This is Romney speaking last night:
“Over the last three and a half years, we have seen hopes and dreams diminished by false promises and weak leadership. Everywhere I go, Americans are tired of being tired.”
Of course, what he fails to mention is the near total ability of the GOP-run U.S. Senate to block anything President Obama has proposed. The Senate, you see, is a relic of the 18th Century with rules of that long ago time still in effect, i.e., a majority of 51 votes does not prevail. In the House of Lords it takes 60 votes to avoid a filibuster and pass legislation. This is not what our founders intended, but it’s what the obstructionist GOP Senate, including Massachusetts’ junior senator Scott Brown, uses to thwart Obama … and the Constitution.
