We’ve been asked here in the Berkshires to join the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) in Holyoke this Saturday and go door-to-door in low-turnout precincts to register new voters. This is a statewide effort sponsored by SEIU to increase the vote in neighborhoods that traditionally have very poor turnout on election day. This effort will give local Obama volunteers the opportunity to register voters and talk about the President’s accomplishments. You’ll get training, a script, and materials, and can go with a partner. Email or call me if you can make it on this coming Saturday morning, 9:30 – 12:30am. I’ll connect folks from the Berkshires so you can carpool.
This past Sunday, about 23 of us Berkshire women had a remarkable brunch together. It was so good that we’re doing it again, Berkshire Women for Obama, this time next Wed, May 16, in Lenox (no brunch but tea and treats at 6:30pm, meeting at 7). Learn why this election is so important, what’s at stake, especially for women, and how you can make a difference. Join with Berkshire women also interested in being part of the victory of Pres. Obama’s reelection! Sign up here: https://my.barackobama.com/page/event/detail/gpsc7w.
