Wall Street is lobbying hard trying to convince Senate Democrats not to give Senator-elect Elizabeth Warren a seat on the Senate Banking Committee, but we are winning the fight:
- The top two ranking Democrats on the Banking Committee, Sens. Tim Johnson and Jack Reed, have both made positive comments about Warren joining their ranks.
- Democratic Sen. Kristen Gillibrand has graciously withdrawn herself from consideration for the Banking Committee, seemingly in favor of Warren.
- CNBC reports that “it’s looking increasingly likely” Elizabeth Warren will be able to secure a spot on the Senate Banking Committee.
We’re on the brink of dealing a major blow to the influence of banks in Congress, but let’s not leave anything to chance.
